| At the heart of the Apex Tool Suite is the SDK, an
advanced graphics API for programmers, optimized for
consumer level graphics cards. The rest of the tools
in the suite serve to complement the Apex SDK by
decreasing development time and making revisions
faster and easier. Using intuitive graphical interfaces, these
tools give you the option of using artists from asset creation
through final scene assembly and tweaking, allowing for more
parallelization of project resources and higher
quality visuals. |
The Apex Tool Suite is made up of the following:
- Apex SDK - A core set of API's
optimized for Windows based PC and Xbox platforms. It
provides a rich set of functionality for graphics,
collision detection, networking, special effects, and
character animation.
- Muon - Our Particle Effects Tool.
Muon is a powerful utility for creating and editing
advanced particle system effects such as smoke, fire,
rain, and explosions.
- Gaia - Our Scene Building Tool. Gaia
is a GUI utility for advanced scene generation without
programming. Place and edit various objects within the
visual scene, create groups, actors, LOD nodes, switch
nodes, etc., all through an intuitive, point-and-click
interface.
- TerraFirma - Our Terrain
Building Tool. TerraFirma, a product being developed for internal
terrain building by Dynamic Animation Systems, is designed to build
3D terrain files based on heightfields. Terrains can be developed
with road networks, trees, structures, and water sources.
